Salvation

Would you like to know God personally? Click here!

Many people find the Bible confusing.  Perhaps that's you.  When you are searching for that which will point you in the right direction, you feel like - "Where do I start?"

The above link is a good starting point.  It is part of the Cru student ministry site.  If you'd rather not go there, then know this.

1.  The Bible says that God is love, and that He loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you.

2.  It's impossible to have the kind or depth of relationship with God you may desire because of sin.  Sin is a part of every persons life.  It is falling short of holiness.  The Bible says that nobody is holy, and because of that the natural result is seperation from God - both now and eternally.  However, God - because He is gracious, kind, and compassionate - did something to make it possible to have a relationship with Him.

3.  God sent Jesus, His only Son, into the world to save mankind from the eternal consequence of sin (eternal seperation from God).  Man's salvation is made possible because Jesus paid the penalty for man's sin.  In order to do this Jesus had to give himself as a perfect "sin offering".  He did that through His death upon the cross.  Because He gave Himself as man's sin offering, man can now have a relationship with God if he is willing to have faith in Jesus and what He did.

4.  One must personally believe in Jesus, that He was a holy sin offering for all mankind, that he truly was resurrected from death after three days, and that He is alive today in heaven.  As well, one must personally make Jesus their Lord.  Then they will receive the blessings of God's eternal salvation and the open door to enter into a personal relationship with God.

Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for your sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience of some sort. You receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the your will in believing, trusting, and following Him.

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer.

Prayer is talking to God. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.

The following is a suggested prayer. If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart, then you can pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life, as He promised.

"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be."

If you've just prayed this prayer, and are truely desiring to follow Jesus, email or call our office to speak with someone who wants to help you become a healthy follower of Christ.

Below are several Bible verses which can help you understand more about all God has done for you through Jesus Christ.
